PAUL MOULTON
Paul got his voice classically trained, but forgot to keep the receipt. So he spent 10 years as lead singer in two bands big
on entertainment. In the first he had a penchant for wearing old ladies' hats. In the second, ROY, he played in slippers, slacks and a Pringle golf sweater.
But now he's making the type of music he loves. Plus he gets to play with Moogs, Theremins and filters, as well as sing.
When WENDY is asleep, Paul grows broad beans. "I like WENDY better", he says, "it makes me happy in the head".
JAY BENHAM
After studying singing at the Royal College of Music in the early nineties, Jay worked as a session singer, producer and DJ, subsidising the expansion of what was soon to become the Sound Answers
Studio (www.soundanswers.com) - a prolific stable of talent based on a network of exceptional musicians and producers.
And that's where WENDY comes into the picture.
"It's like music for us grown-ups!" says Jay, "Music for the post-clubbing generation that's now hankering for really
interesting lyrics, changes and textures in tunes."
NICK MOFFAT
Nick started learning the piano when he was 7, and stuck it out until 13,
when he decided that bass and acoustic guitars were much more him. After his voice broke, his singing got a lot better, which
also helped.
He's been in loads of bands, including Dirty - which formed, rehearsed, did a gig and broke up in the space of 24 hours. After
university, Nick played bass, wrote songs and sang backing vocals in Limousine, a funky indie outfit. He also formed Dirty
Boy with Jay, which was all about deep house.
At the same sort of time, he met Paul and formed ROY - Middle England's Finest Band. "WENDY is the future", he says, "It's music to drink tea to."
